Jeff Maximum & Eddie Jay: Heart 107.1 exclusive interview

April 10, 2018

As a UAE radio station, Heart 107.1 is proud to support and showcase local talent. This Sunday, Dubai-based record label owner and producer Jeff Maximum and rapper, Eddie Jay dropped in during the Heart Breakfast show with Tim, Faris and Sheron and treated listeners to a story of success and hustling, plus an on-air freestyle rap.

Before we get into it, Jeff Maximum, who has been singing since the age of 13,  got his name from his mum who told him that no matter what he does, he “must do it to the maximum. There is no minimum or medium.” Hailing from Congo, he started off as a singer and songwriter and moved to Dubai in 2005 to chase his dreams of music. Initially, it was not as easy as he had hoped, but years a few years of working to save up. He then started his own record label, Onevision Records LLC, which has helped several local artists to kick-start their careers.  Jeff has also worked with international stars like Jay Z, Akon, Sean Paul and Neyo.

Rapper Eddie Jay accompanied Jeff Maximum to the interview and told us he was ever-so-grateful to Jeff for giving him a shot. Jeff picked Eddie because of his “vibe, talent, energy and lyrics.” The two have been working together for five years and have toured the globe together, putting on shows in places they would have never imagined like Japan, Singapore and China. Eddie and Jeff are always taken aback by the amount of love their fans show them when they perform.

As for future plans, the R&B duo will hopefully be performing alongside Shaggy after Ramadan. Jeff had some advice when it came to dancing (since he seems to be a fan of the Tim dance), he says to “dance like no one is looking at you.”  It was an absolute pleasure having Jeff Maximum and Eddie Jay in the studio.
