Lisa Scott-Lee: Heart 107.1 exclusive interview
July 1, 2018
If you are a frequent Heart 107.1 listener, you know how much we love our nineties and naughties hits. So, it should not surprise you that we were over the moon to have a 90s pop icon from the UK group Steps in our studio! Ahead of their performance at the Dubai Opera, Lisa Scott-Lee popped in for an interview on Heart Mornings with Jade.
Remember this track? We still have it on repeat.
In her interview, Lisa told us just why she loves Dubai and the UAE so much. Having lived in London, she believes the people here are “friendly and welcoming” and that the city is flooded with very talented people (as she discovered recruiting dancers for their performance).
In a rapid-fire round with Jade, Lisa picked the Backstreet Boys as her favourite 90s band and said that the funniest moment on any tour was when she had a wardrobe malfunction during a performance of ‘Tragedy’ which was ironic and almost apt. Her favourite artist is Micheal Jackson because when they had dinner together, he was lovely and Christina Aguilera is her least favourite because she was a bit of a diva when they encountered each other. Lisa’s most memorable moment as a band was when Steps won their Brit Award in 1999 for Best Newcomer.
While we are here, we might as well mention that our love for Lisa is mutual. In an interview with The National newspaper, Lisa picked Heart 107.1 as her go-to radio station, saying:
It’s Heart FM. We’ve got some great radio stations here, but at the minute I really like what Heart is doing.
