Avril Lavigne Will Perform at Special Olympics World Games in UAE!

Sk8er girl, Avril Lavigne will be performing at the Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi in exactly a week! The 2000s punk icon will be at the opening ceremony that takes place on March 14, 2019 at Zayed Sports City Stadium.
The star has a long association with the initiative and even has a song that she co-wrote that is dedicated to people with determination called Fly. Through the Avril Lavigne Foundation she’s had the opportunity to invite 200 Special Olympic athletes to her concerts. Lavigne said, “I am so excited to come to Abu Dhabi. I have been working with the Special Olympics for a number of years and this will truly be an incredible experience performing at the largest and most unified Special Olympics World Games ever held. These athletes are so inspiring and they are a huge part of what we believe in and support through The Avril Lavigne Foundation. I want to shine a light on their courage and determination and I am honoured to have been invited to help support them.”
Joining her on stage are local singer Hussain Jasmi, Egyptian super star Tamer Hosny, DJ Paul Oakenfold and ‘Despacito’ singer Luis Fonsi. Also rumored to attend is Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger.
