If You’re Flying Through DXD Here Are the Route Updates You Need to Know

April 15, 2019

Starting April 16, DXB might not be your airport of departure or arrival!

Tomorrow Dubai International Airport kicks off runway renovations which will affect flight operations for the next 45 days. Earlier last week, DXB made a statement saying that a lot of route changes mean that you could be flying out of Dubai World Central (DWC) or Sharjah.

DWC will be accommodating at least 145 passenger flights during this period. Flights included are flydubai, Wizz Air, Aeroflot, Indigo, SpiceJet, Gulf Air, Ukraine International Airlines, Ural Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Kuwait Airways and flynas.

To ease out your commute, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will support the change with a regular free bus service from DWC to DXB (every 30 minutes) and even dedicate a fleet of taxis with a special discounted rate.

Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airports said “We’re confident that we are fully prepared and good to go for April 16,”  and that “We are encouraging passengers to confirm their airport of departure before they set out to take their flights but otherwise they can expect smooth operations and great service.”

Here are the routes that will fly out of DWC starting April 16:
