CHRISTINA AGUILERA TO RELEASE 20TH-ANNIVERSARY EDITIONS OF SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM

This month, the ‘Fighter’ singer plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album with 3 special releases.

Christina Aguilera tweeted: “This month marks 20 years since my debut album, Christina Aguilera, was released! In its honor, I’m releasing xxtra speical versions digitally & at my store..and more surprises…on Aug 23rd!” To make it even bigger, the singer urged fans to share their favorite memories of the record using the #XXtina hashtag. These xxtra special versions will be released the day before the official anniversary of her self-titled album on August 24.

 

The original album’s songs along with rare versions, remixes and acappella tracks will be featured on the digital edition that were unavailable for streaming previously. In Aguilera’s store, there will be a limited amount of special editions that include: a picture disc vinyl edition with an autographed and numbered Cerfitiface of Authenticity, a collectible Christina Aguilera cassette, the digital download and a selection of 20th-anniversary retro merch.

In 1999, the self-titled album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 AND went eight times platinum and earned the singer her first Grammy for best new artist. All time favorite classics like ‘Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants,” “I Turn to You” were all featured in the album.
